A Post Election Conservative Declaration

It was election night 2008 and the American people had just chosen. Specifically, eight million more people chose Barack Obama over John McCain; just enough of a margin to allow the winners to call it a landslide and the losers to call it a catastrophe.

The truly conservative shuddered when the numbers finally came in: Barack Hussein Obama had done it. He had fooled the people, or so we told ourselves, and we'll be reaping the consequences of a socialist president for the next 60 years. "Democracy is doomed!" ran through more than one mind that night.

Now, as Obama's (non)policy is taking shape, that might not be too far fetched. The steps the new Democratic majority will take in the first year of Obama's "rule" will tell much. In the mean time, let's not jump to conclusions.

We still have that wonderful document called the Constitution; and hopefully this new government will at least try to honor it. I have my doubts because as we all know that power corrupts, but there are still people on both sides of America that revere the Constitution. Maybe there is still hope with a lowercase "O", after all?

As a strictly racial achievement, I’m happy for African Americans; they’ve waited a long time for this. Even though I think that many of them voted for Obama just because he was part black and not because of the issues, they have nonetheless finally shattered the highest glass ceiling in the world. For that I wept for joy on election night!

Now, as the excitement wears off and the real world comes back into view, we need to get down to business:

If you’re a conservative, cheer up!

We’ve been here before and we’ll not only get through it just fine, we will thrive.

The liberals have gotten nearly everything they wanted, so there goes their last excuse for any failure to lead. Now they’re going to have to figure out how to come through on all their outrageous promises and it’s going to be fun to watch!

It’s a time to examine our core values, strengthen those that are good and trash those that are baseless. We need to go back to our roots and find what it is that we stand for and then stand firm on it.

Moderation is fast becoming the catch phrase for the uber "middle ground" in America, but the disaster would be complete if we adopted this stance as our core doctrine.

We must re-discover the values of conservatism, dust them off and put them up for everyone to see.

After a few years of the moral relativism of the Obama administration, the emptiness of amorality will be in full swing and there will be in vogue a search for meaningfulness and principle sweeping the scene.

We'd better be ready with the right answers.

It’s a time to learn how to be a strong conservative minority opposition without being complainers or blame shifters. Let’s show those overgrown liberal crybabies who’ve been whining about Bush for eight years how to be the underdog with dignity and style!

It’s also a time of great opportunity for level headed young people with solid morals to show initiative and bring some fresh air to the conservative cause.

We must learn to value opinions that are contrary to ours for the benefit of perspective. Just because we don't agree with someone does not mean that we dishonor them and their ideas. As if on cue, the radical homosexual activists currently protesting the passing of California Proposition 8 are trying to do just the opposite; they want to get a hateful reaction out of conservatives who don't agree with them. Don't give them that chance.

We all must learn to value opposing viewpoints without having to come in agreement with them, because very soon we might not be able to express opposing viewpoints at all.

So on that note, I offer my Post Election Conservative Declaration of Values:
  • Barack Hussein Obama (hereafter “Obama” in this document) is now my president, not my king. I will give honor to him as his office requires, but will hold him firmly accountable for everything he does.
  • Since he is unproven, I will give Obama a chance to prove to me his character and his honesty.
  • I will give Obama a chance to soften his decidedly hard left outlook by reaching out to the 55,821,650 people who voted against him.
  • I will not blindly give my trust to Obama, but will thoroughly examine every action he takes while in office and sound an alarm when and if he violates the constitution.
  • If Obama violates the constitution and does not deviate from said unconstitutional course when made legally aware, I pledge my full and complete support to any effort of impeachment and forced removal from office.
  • I will pray for the President and other leaders in our government.
  • I reserve the right to refer to him by his full name, Barack Hussein Obama, in the few conversations I plan on having about him.
  • I will freely live my faith in an authentic fashion and will share it with others in a loving way.
  • I will be socially and politically proactive, freely speaking my mind on issues I deem important and will NOT live in fear of a reprisal by my government. If reprisals do come, I will denounce them with every means available to me on the basis of patriotic principle.
  • I will fully support and campaign to uphold our right to keep and bear arms.
  • I will fully and to the best of my ability work to honorably end the national disgrace of abortion.
  • I will be wise in my use of finances and invest accordingly, knowing the methods and social motives behind the conglomerates where my investment goes.
  • I will not speak pointless evil of my leaders, but will speak the truth in kindness.
  • I will not let people with viewpoints opposite mine steal my joy; and will go about my everyday life with a new sense of purpose and urgency, knowing that every word I speak and action I take is a down payment on eternity.

My political manifesto: What this election really means.

One of the longest and most hotly contested Presidential races in recent history is going to culminate in less than 30 days. The only thing definite about this race is that a first is going to occur this November, whether we have our first black President or our first woman Vice President.

Because I believe in voting values over party lines, I’ve put a lot of research into finding out not only what each candidate stands for, but also what their associates and advisors believe as well.

Through this research I’ve come to believe that John McCain and Sarah Palin are the best choices for President and Vice President of the United States. I don’t come by this decision lightly and I don’t give my endorsement simply because I like them. There are areas on which I disagree with this ticket, but in the overall picture I cannot think of voting otherwise.

As an American with a genuine love for my country and a healthy fear of the forces that would tear her apart, I will always vote for what I see as best for America.

Even more than that, as a Christian with morals, my core values play a significant role in deciding where my vote will be cast. I believe the Bible is very clear on the topics such as the Sanctity of Life, the value of family as God created it, honesty, faithfulness and authenticity. These issues will be playing a very large role in our nation in the next 4 – 8 years and I believe we need to pay close attention to them.

I’ll just highlight two of the most important ones here:

Integrity:

John McCain

A friend of mine who knows John McCain personally told me that; “People might not like his personality, but when he says he will do something, he does it. He looks at each decision based not on what’s good for his so called image, but on what’s good for his country. His military training has engrained this servant mentality into him and he has worn it well over his many decades of service to America. He is in private exactly who he is in public. That’s why I’m voting for him.” Ironically, this friend is a lifelong Democrat.

John McCain is many things, but faithless he is not. Through his many years of service to his country, he has proven himself faithful even when having to risk his reputation to do so. He is authentic to a fault in that he answers straight on topics that matter and does not hesitate or bluff when asked hard questions.

Barak Hussein Obama

has proven himself to be faithful to the extreme left wing of his party and no one else. Having many times flip-flopped back and forth on issues such as the economy, his 20 year attendance of Jeremiah Wright’s racist hate-mongering church and his close ties to radical terrorists, Barak Hussein Obama never has a straight answer, just nice words. When asked hard questions, such as when human life begins, Barak Hussein Obama shuffles, bluffs and curtails the issue while trying to save face. He appears to not even be true to his own core values, if he even has any.

As a Senator, his job is to vote on issues important to those who elected him to office. Unfortunately, his most common vote has been “Present” and the issues on which he does vote are nearly all in favor of extreme liberal / socialist ideals. Nothing proves his casual approach to his duties more as when he refused to return to Washington from the campaign trail to work on a solution to our deepening financial crisis, something John McCain had no problem doing.

Abortion:

John McCain

“believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.”

He will also concentrate on promoting adoption as the caring option to genocide in the womb. His Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, is a proven champion of human rights and is staunchly pro life.

Palin will get things done and fight hard for those who can’t fight for themselves, the unborn children. These children can be thankful they have such a woman fighting for them, for Sarah passed the ultimate test of abortion when she gave birth to a wonderful boy with down syndrome. To top that, her very own daughter chose to keep a baby conceived out of wedlock and marry the father. That took guts.

Barak Hussein Obama

is staunchly pro abortion to the point of even supporting very late term abortion, which entails killing a baby outside the mother’s womb. He is on the record as stating that a woman expecting an unwanted baby shouldn’t be “punished with this problem”. Forget the nice phrases he has on his website, his very sparse voting record contains outrageous votes and statements made in support of this practice.

To top that off, his running mate, Joe Biden, has said that he believes that life BEGINS at CONCEPTION; startling words from someone who has enthusiastically supported abortion throughout his entire career!

So in other words, Biden has confessed what his cohorts are afraid to admit, that by his support of abortion he is legally a murderer. Funny that we never hear anyone wanting to prosecute him; the hundreds of thousands of innocent people murdered this way makes the deaths in Iraq that liberals hold the current administration responsible for look like a drop in the bucket…

This battle has come to a head and the next decade will determine the fate of OUR nation; will we repent of our shameless genocide, or will we ignore the blood on our hands and exterminate another generation?

A vote for Barak Hussein Obama is a blood vote for a continuation of our national shame, abortion.

What now?

My gut tells me that the American people are standing on the brink of making a terrible mistake. I understand wanting change and all that, but we need to ask ourselves, “Is this the change we want?”

Mark my words, if you think the economy is bad now, wait until Barak Hussein Obama implements his socialist / communist plans of change in our society. We’ll all be economically equal alright; equally poorer from higher taxes and equally dead while we wait in line for an appendectomy at the social welfare clinic!

If you think our freedoms are being violated now, wait until Barak Hussein Obama takes away all our guns. Crime in America will increase and emboldened by the fact that upstanding citizens aren’t allowed to have firearms, armed violent criminals will roam at will, easily evading already thinly stretched law enforcement. Barak Hussein Obama could then declare marshal law in American to cope with the security threat.

If you think the Iraqi war is bad, wait until Venezuela, Cuba and a few other South American nations attack the United States with Russian made nuclear weapons and invades Florida, Texas and California. If he doesn’t invite Hugo Chavez and his army to Washington for a little “dialog” (read: revolution), Barak Hussien Obama will, like his political twin Neville Chamberlain, try to appease our enemies through fastidious dialog and claim “peace in our time”. Then we’ll have to kick his sorry butt out of office and fight the battle of our lives to preserve this place we call the Land of the Free.

And heaven help us if we have another terrorist attack on our soil. Barak Hussein Obama would probably want to dialog with the terrorists to find some common ground so we can solve our differences. I can hear it now:

TERRORIST:
“Death to America!”

BARRY:
“But isn’t there some way that we can find common…”

TERRORIST:
“Death to America!”

BARRY:
“Ok, well I can understand you wanting to kill us for 72 virgins. I mean, that makes perfect sense to me. But, can’t we do sort of an exchange program? I’ll implement Sharia law in my country and we’ll introduce Islam into our public school system if you won’t attack us.”

TERRORIST:
“Yeehaw!”

Not my opinion of a peaceful next four years!

I’m not saying these things will happen, but everyone said that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac wouldn't collapse like they did either; so stranger things have been suggested.

Friend, we face some immense challenges in these times. The change we are talking about affects each one of us in a very personal way. It's not an administration change were talking about here, it's a lifestyle change; for our very lives will be affected by the next administration.

Do we want radical socialism, or do we want what our founding Fathers fought for, democracy? For that is how sharp the dividing lines have been drawn. The choice is ours.

So you really want change? Then we're going to have to work for it!

We the people are the problem, not our politicians. Our collective sense of entitlement has led us into a very dangerous place; dependence on the government. If you think wealthy CEO’s are bad, wait until you get wealthy communist party secretaries, they will not only be richer than you, they’ll throw you in jail or kill you outright for protesting against them.

We have to understand that along with the so called “security” that socialism brings comes a drastic reduction in our freedoms. We need LESS government, NOT more. We need the freedom to solve our own problems and yes, we need the freedom to fail.

A vote for Barak Hussein Obama is a vote for socialism, which leads to communism.

The first problem we need to solve is who to vote for; and if you’re an American with any sense at all (and I admit that I’m talking to roughly 60% of Americans) you’ll vote for the only candidates who are proud of their love for America:

John McCain and Sarah Palin

Thanks for your time and see you at the polls!

She's at it again!

“A source close to the controversy over the request made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., for use of a military plane that can fly to and from her home district in San Francisco without having to stop to refuel, told ABC News that the Pentagon has rebuffed Pelosi's request.” (ABC News)

Isn’t it just like a SF liberal to pretend to champion the impoverished by claiming to be “just an average, everyday person” at the same time as trying to get a personal aircraft to fly her non-stop home from Washington? Meanwhile, her “average, everyday” fellow citizens have to deal with cramped seats, long waits and several stopovers for the same trip. The current aircraft that’s been used for years in this role is the Gulfstream IIV, a comfortable twelve passenger twin engine jet the flies just over 500 MPH. It’s cost of operation is around $1700 per hour. The aircraft Madam Pelosi is requesting is a C-32, “a very luxurious and specially configured version of the Boeing 757-200 commercial airliner.” This aircraft can cost as much as $22,000 per hour to operate! It’s usually used by the First Lady, the President, Vice President or cabinet members upon special request.

Herein lies my biggest beef with Democrats: their constant and unwavering backing of socialistic leaning agendas to be forced on the American people while the politicians themselves live a perfectly capitalistic lifestyle. I don't care what party you're from, when you get that hypocrytical you've lost the very essence of what it takes to be a good leader: leadership through example. Show me a good leader and I'll guarantee he/she will be one who isn't afraid to live what they preach!
